Description
Mama's boys deserve some respect! They are devoted, reliable, and want nothing more than to please. Chicago diners love our newest prodigy. Nestled in the bosom of River North, (445 N. Dearborn), Mama's Boy is Rosebud's newest family member, bringing traditional Italian peasant food to 21st century America. (It's worth noting that Rosebud is named for founder Alex Dana's own mother, Rose.)
"This is not the place for diners seeking dainty microscopic servings, smoke, and foam,” says Alex Dana with a laugh. "But, if you savor hearty, fresh ingredients; classic presentations; and leaving a meal feeling satisfied with some to take home, pull up a chair and make your mama proud.”
The atmosphere is casual and the value is extraordinary. At Mama's Boy, Chef Massimo Gaffo serves up favorites like osso buco, handmade pastas, and a splendid array of fresh shellfish.
The Food. Alert your tastebuds and loosen your belt. Mama's Boy culinary and cocktail highlights include: osso bucco (veal, lamb and pork), traditional Sicilian meatballs with a selection of house-made gravies; handmade pasta prepared before your eyes in our open kitchen; and an array of libations, such as our Cucumbertini, "Not Your Mama's Manhattan,” and Pomarita (pomegranate margarita). Buon Appetito!
The Place. It's like coming to mama's house for Sunday dinner. Rustic yet sophisticated, intimate, but airy, the dining room seats 120. Watch pizza bubbling as it emerges from the oven and see pasta prepared fr
